Like I said below, it was official this morning that it was hodgkin’s again.  The treatment is a new chemo treatment for two or three cycles (one treatment is a cycle), they don’t know exactly until they start and also depends on how quick they can get a response from my insurance about the stem cell infusion.  The treatment is three days in a row for 5 hours each but is out patient, so I’ll be going home after it each day.  It’s three chemo drugs that will (more…)

Dr. Dragon called this morning and talked to my mom and they confirmed I have hodgkin’s again.  I have an appointment with him at 2 to day.  May know more after that.

Haven’t gotten the results yet.  Don’t really know what to hope it is, I mean what else can it be that’s the same exact symptoms and not hodgkin’s?  I do however know what to hope for, that they do find a result.  I’d really rather not have a regular biopsy.

This time I didn’t really get any externally visible bruising but it was more angry in a different way.  Don’t know how to explain it.  The visible bruise from the original needle biopsy is almost all gone but I don’t think it’s fully (more…)

It definitely sucks less to get there at 12:30pm than it does to get there at like 8am like last time.  Different doctor this time, different nurse and different tech as well.  I didn’t go to the recovery room after, they just kept me in the room for an extra 20 minutes or something to make sure I was still good to go.  The doctor didn’t do any of the smaller needles, just the larger gauge clicking ones, he ask for size 18 and 20, not sure which he used or (more…)

Apparently the third needle, the larger one that was different than the first two is called a ‘core biopsy’ and mine was inconclusive or didn’t have enough tissue to be definitive or something like that that according to the lab.  So Dr. Dragon wants to try another core biopsy.  so that’s scheduled for Wednesday.  It’s probably going to suck even more to have them poking around when it’s still not really healed but I want this to be (more…)

Only got like 4 maybe 5 hours of sleep night before last, couldn’t get to sleep until like 1:30am, woke up at 3:30am and couldn’t get back to sleep.  Not sure if I woke up from my hip hurting or because I was cold, but my hip was hurting enough to keep me from sleeping.  After about 15 or 20mins I got up.  Didn’t want to take advil because of the needle biopsy (it thins your blood some, not nearly as much as aspirin but it does so you’re not (more…)

It was kind of a hurry up and wait situation. Supposed to get there a half hour early to get ready or whatever and I was in the room like 10mins before the scheduled time but the doctor got tied up with his previous procedure or whatever for like 20 or 30 mins (well, part of that he was ready but the lab tech wasn’t ready yet). It didn’t take long once he was there. Nurses got me ready, doctor found the spot with the ultrasound and then nurse gave me (more…)

I had my suspicions that Hodgkin’s was back for a few months now. That’s actually why I didn’t get my port taken out after the three month checkup even though Dr. Dragon said I could, ’cause I had already started feeling kinda bad (in the same way as I did before like a year chemo) for a few days every week or every other week for a month, month and a half at that point, so decided to hold off on getting the port taken out at least until I had some more scans.  Well, had some scans a month early because I started getting night sweats in addition to feeling bad more often.  But most of that you probably know at this point, so on to the new info.

got a call this morning about the PET scan results. Dr. Dragon said there was ‘abnormalities’ in my lower abdomen, hips, pelvis, something like that (he said one, not a list like that) don’t know what the actual word was he used but ya, down there, where there previously had never shown anything. We don’t know what it is yet, if it’s hodgkin’s or something new. Have an appointment on Thursday with him to see if he can feel anything. I ask how do we find out and he said do a biopsy.

Probably know a little more on Thursday.

Scan went fine, I almost locked myself out of the house before leaving to get the scan, that would have sucked, but as I was shutting the door, as I was pulling it all the way closed I realized I didn’t have them and went back in.  If I realized it a second later I’d have been screwed.  Other than that, nothing.  Oh and as I was leaving I realized and said to myself, “All I’ve eaten today was radioactive glucose.” and then realized that sound like a line from a comedy SciFi show or maybe bad regular SciFi.

Should find out the results tomorrow (Tuesday), Wednesday at the latest probably.
